Underlined lyrics are spoken and not sung.īut here comes the Spiny Shell! (Ha ha ha!) The song was composed by Grant Kirkhope, written by Ubisoft employee Cristina Nava, and sung by Augustin Chemelle, a French baritone opera singer. As he does so, he repeatedly derides various aspects of the Mario franchise, such as Mario's physique and limited dialogue, the Spiny Shell from the Mario Kart series, and the Mushroom item. In the song, Phantom tries to dissuade Mario and company from fighting him, and tells him that he is ready to "reign". The song is sung opera style, and is most notable for its lyrics, something mainly absent from other Mario games. The second verse he sang, however, was unused for the second phase. He sings the first verse at the beginning of his boss battle and the third verse at the beginning of his third phase. It is sung by the Phantom, and was used in the game's second trailer. Phantom of the Bwahpera, titled Phantom's Theme in the museum's music list, is a song with lyrics in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.
